Cook Island Aquatic Reserve

There are six marine parks in NSW covering approximately 345,000 hectares, 12 aquatic reserves cover around 2,000 hectares and National Parks and Nature Reserves include around 20,000 hectares of estuarine and oceanic habitats.  You can find more information about the marine protected areas here.

Fish Rock and Green Island on the mid-north coast of NSW is one of the top aggregation areas of the critically endangered Grey Nurse Shark in Australia and is home to another vulnerable species – the Black Cod.  You can read more about the Grey Nurse Shark here.
